EPL: 4 matches we could see shock results on final day

The Premier League will be wrapped up today across 10 stadiums.

We already know that Manchester City are champions, Arsenal will finish as runners-up, Manchester United and Newcastle will make up the top four, Southampton are relegated, and the two other teams that will drop into the Championship will be determined on the final day.

So in which matches are we likely to see upsets?

1. Brentford vs Man City: Pep Guardiola’s men have already been confirmed champions for the third consecutive year. Now they set their sights on completing the treble within two weeks. First, they take on Manchester United in the FA Cup final, before they play Inter Milan in the Champions League. So expect a second-string side away at Brentford, something that might play into the Bees’ hands.

2. Chelsea vs Newcastle: The Blues will end what has been a dreadful campaign against Newcastle at home. It will also be Frank Lampard’s last game as interim boss. Lampard is looking to record the first home win of his second spell in charge. He has lost eight of his 10 games in charge. The Magpies are full of confidence at the moment, having qualified for the Champions League, and could shock their hosts.

3. Leeds vs Tottenham: It comes down to 90 minutes at Elland Road. Leeds go into this game knowing they have to win or be relegated to the Championship. For Spurs, a bad result could mean they don’t have any European competition next season. Sam Allardyce has a bonus in his short-term deal if he saves Leeds, so expect him to charge his troops up for battle and a possible win.

4. Man Utd vs Fulham: The last time these two clubs played each other was in the FA Cup. It was a feisty game at Old Trafford, with Aleksandr Mitrovic, Willian and manager Marco Silva all seeing red cards. Mitrovic, who was handed an eight-game ban after pushing referee Chris Kavanagh in that game, is back and scoring. The Serbian striker could be looking to end the season with a bit of revenge against the Red Devils.
